Take Us Home

Every year, an estimated 2,000,000
homeless pets are euthanized.
Our goal: a no-kill world where all homeless pets find loving homes.

Our Mission

Local, national, international, puppy mills & emergency rescues

Urgent medical care, grooming, training & loads of TLC

Making matches that last a lifetime

Shelter pets teach students essential skills for success

Our Impact

A pioneer of the no-kill movement, North Shore Animal League America continues to lead the way with the development of national and international programs that increase adoptions and raise awareness about the plight of homeless animals.

Since 1944, more than 1.1 million animal lives saved.

In a single year, our medical staff performed 58,000 exams and vaccinated 65,000 animals.

Each year we find homes for more than 10,000 pets from our Adoption Center in NY, and facilitate over 50,000 adoptions around the country working with our network of over 2,000 shelter partners.

An inspiring evening was had by all, while raising significant support for our incredible dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens!

It's November. The weather here on the East Coast has shifted toward the autumnal, the days have shortened, dusk arrives a bit earlier every day, and the instinct to pull in, settle down, and take a bit of personal inventory is strong. Fall is definitely the season for introspection, and introspection often leads to giving thanks, especially in times like these.

An adorable puppy or kitten can certainly put a smile on your face, but a dog or cat in its golden years can do the same thing, while also making the pet parenting process much easier. Learn more about the benefits of adopting an adult or senior pet, and meet some who are waiting for you at our Port Washington, NY Adoption Center.

I live in Ohio and paid for a puppy supposedly from a breeder in Colorado. I didn't receive the puppy and they have my $1000.00. I have screenshots of every bit of correspondence. What are my rights?
